Sociology student Ismaël (Reda Kateb) is carrying out passenger surveys at Gare du Nord for the transport authority in order to finance his dissertation. That’s how he gets to know and fall in love with Mathilde (Nicole Garcia), a professor suffering from cancer who meets a former student of hers in turn who works as a real-estate agent between Paris, London and Lille, while a well-known television comedian looks both for his daughter who has disappeared and his lost sense of humor. GARE DU NORD doesn’t just share its setting with GÉOGRAPHIE HUMAINE; several of the real stories and characters from the documentary reappear in this feature film, which also serves up some fantastical moments and ghosts.
